   It is possible that Pittara met Madrazo y Garreta in Paris and teamed up to create this collaborative work. Pittara likely executed the landscape while Mazdrazo painted the woman. Pittara was well known for his animal paintings so it is also possible that Pittara painted the dog. Pittara was a member of a group of landscape painters that became known as the School of Rivara in France.
